Create with Connie & Mary CCMC232 -- Flower Power w/ Bling

Today is Friday and I don't know about you but I am so ready for the weekend!!! We have been cooped up in the house because of the snow and really nothing to do. But this weekend I plan to go do some shopping!!  As for today, I decided to do another challenge and this time I chose to do Create with Connie and Mary's challenge --  CCMC232 Color Challenge. This was so up my alley!
2012 Create Thursday-012
Create with Connie & Mary
I love, love, love the colors that they chose but I really didn't want to do another snow or winter card, instead I decided to do a birthday card. I am getting low on those and I have a couple of January birthdays that I will need cards for so this is perfect.
So what do you think? I love the simplicity of this embossing folder and how adding the coordinating ink with a dauber over the raised flowers adds just another "ohhh" to the card. Every card has to have bling because what would a card be without it? BLAH!! So the silver shimmer paper and a couple of rhinestones just made it POP!! I cannot wait to see what the recipient of this card thinks. I am sure she will love it.
One of the creative parts of the card was making the tag. I used the modern label to make this. For the layering, I used 2 punched out labels. First, I cut  1 in 1/2, long way, and the 2nd one I cut in 1/2, short way. Then I layered it onto the whisper white punch with the saying. I added the 2 rhinestones and did a little sponging around the edges. I popped the whole thing up on dimensionals and there you have it. Super pretty.

I hope you will all tell me what you think and hope on over to the challenge and join them!! Mary & Connie are 2 of my favorite stampers. :)

Have a super blessed weekend friends!!  ~ Heidi

Snowflakes for a snowy day...SUO Challenge #61

Today I decided that I wanted to do a blog challenge and I found the SUO Challenge and thought I would try this one. The challenge was to use any blue we wanted and I was thinking a warm winter card since today we are getting alot of snow here in Ohio. So I combined the snowflake die and the coffee cup from the Scentsation Seasons stamp set to create the warm part of my card. This seemed like a perfect card for this cold, cold day!!
I embossed the mug using my ink pad and clear embossing powder. I popped that onto 2 snowflakes made in baja breeze and indigo island. The designer paper is from the paper pack in the Holiday mini. I placed rhinestones on each of the snowflakes and in the middle of the coffee cup. Here are a couple of close ups of the details of this card.

I hope you have enjoyed todays creation and it inspires you to stop on over to the SUO Challenge and show them what you have come up with. I had alot of fun doing this card. I would love to know what you think about it. Please leave your comments.

Have a blessed day!!  ~ Heidi

Oh Baby, baby!!!

Well, it seems like it might be baby week here. I found this card that I created a couple of months ago for my cousin and her 1st baby. Of course you can tell she was expecting a beautiful baby girl and I had to make something special for her. I love these onesie cards and I found one that I wanted to duplicate so here is what I came up with. This picture does the card no justice as my camera was not cooperating that day but  here it is....

I used rose red and pretty in pink along with some chocolate chip satin ribbon. The card is so ruffly and feminine, it just screams BABY GIRL!! As it turned out she loved the card and so did everyone else. I am so glad I decided on this card to make for her. Thank you for stopping by. See you soon,

Blessings,
Heidi

Hi stampers!  I've taken a long hiatus from blogging and stamping. I am very sorry!  I haven't stamped a whole lot lately and haven't really felt like blogging either.  By the time I get what needs done in the house and the homework, basketball practice, cheerleading, and any other kiddo thing they bring to me, I am done for the day.  Doesn't help that my stamp room is messy right now either....but I don't feel like cleaning it either. And it just seems I don't have many ideas for cards, blah!
So when a gal in my Friday bible study welcomed her beautiful baby boy into the world, I told the study that I would make her the card that we were going to put her gift card in. I honestly couldn't wait to see where my creative flow took me. So I went downstairs to my crafting world and started. This is what I came up with.

Yes, most of the products I used are retired, but hey, I stamped, right?? I love how this card turned out and so did the ladies. The 2 main colors are Baha Breeze and Chocolate Chip. Yummy!!  So now I am going to try to at least stamp 2-3 times a week and post on here for you all to have a look. I hope that you will come back to see my creations coming soon and tell me what you think. I love to hear your comments.

Blessings,
Heidi
